The
Cano Negro National Wild Life Refuge is conformed
by the Caño Negro Lagoon, somo other and the Rio Frio.
It has an extension of 900 Hs., is one of the most important
biological area of the country (4th on earth) and was declared
Wild Life Area of International importance in 1991.
Is the best ecological site in Costa Rica with the emerald basilisk,
iguanas, river turtles, caimans as well as many others. Probably
thye best site in the Continent because of the vast wild and
animal concentration. America to see wild animal concentrations.
Also are common on this area jaguars, ocelots. Giant Ant Bears
and others.
Cano Negro is one of the first areas in giving special
emphasis on the handle of biological resources according
