Anyone
seeking an archetypical palm-lined beach with chalky white
sand, few crowds,
and calm waves will find Carrillo euphoric.
Significantly less developed than its budding neighbor Sámara
to the west, Carrillo is unique in that the beach remains naked
of any hotels and restaurants, giving the small, crescent-shaped
bay an unforgettably secluded, tropical feel. Sunworshippers
share the beach with sailors and fishermen who like to anchor
their boats in the bay's shallow waters, but you'll almost
always be able to find a little patch of shore to call your
own. If
you can't spend much time here, at least swing by in the evening
to witness one of Costa Rica's most famed sunsets from atop
the hills of Carillo village. Hostels in Playa Carrillo |
