A
village known for its multilingual and cosmopolitan character,
Sosua is a real
jewel of a town and offers idyllic beaches, many
guest houses, hotels, villas, terrace cafés, pubs and
restaurants.
In 1940, it became home for about 600 European Jewish refugees,
who settled in Sosua to start a new life. They developed the
dairy industry for which Sosua is noted. The original synagogue
still stands. A visit to the museum behind the temple reveals
the early days of this community with a will to survive. Hostels in Sosua |
