There
are many beaches in the southern part of the island, Great
Courland Bay is typical.
Pigeon Point is a famous resort
offering safe bathing for all of the family. Buccoo is less
used as a bathing resort but it makes an interesting visit
for wild
life enthusiasts as it is backed by mangrove swamps which host
their own particular range of animals not often seen elsewhere
on the island. Buccoo is also one of the departure points for
glass bottom boats which visit the nearby Buccoo reef. Another
feature of Buccoo is the ‘Sunday School’ disco.
Arrange your return transport in advance if you plan to attend.
