Unless
you're making an early morning connection, there's no particular
reason to stop in Juliaca, in many ways an uninspiring
and very flat settlement. It certainly isn't an inviting town,
looking like a large but down-at-heel and desert-bound work
camp. However, there are some good artesania stalls and shops
on the
Plaza Bolognesi, and abundant and excellent woollen goods can
be purchased extremely cheaply, especially at the Monday market
. The daily market around the station is worth a browse and
sells just about everything - from stuffed iguanas to second-hand
bikes. Hostels in Juliaca |
